    Carwow has little to no credibility here. We call out their bullshit time and time again. It is all about getting likes and views from the masses though so Carwow creates misleading videos in order to get more views so Carwow can get get car commission sales and that is what this is all about. It boils down to money, not credibility. The new Carrera S is not slower than a Tesla Model 3 Performance and will not lose a drag or roll race to it unless circumstances are manipulated. The test numbers thus far from a variety of sources all show the 992 Carrera S running low 11's at ~125 miles per hour. How is Carwow roughly a full second off? Well, you can visibly see the Carrera S kicking up dirt as it launches: Wow, well done Carwow! You proved all wheel drive can beat a faster car when you specifically make sure the surface is not prepped, dirty, or will not offer traction. Why not race them while it is raining too? Maybe put them both on ice? Have the Carrera start in a puddle of water? This is misleading and frankly downright awful. They do a second drag race where the Carrera S warms its tires (by doing donuts?) but the damage has been done. An 11.5 still is on the slow side for the Carrera S but still quick enough to beat the Model S. Yet, they say the video has a *shock* result despite the Carrera S winning 2 out of 3. They market the manufactured loss for views and that is why Carwow is garbage. You would think the roll race would fix all of this but the Carrera is not in the right gear (waiting for kickdown) so that they can exaggerate the performance of the Tesla... again for clicks. They even claim the Tesla won despite the Porsche pulling past. WTF? They do a second drag race and put the 992 Carrera S in second gear at 30 mph. The car is geared so that it will do over 40 miles per hour in 1st gear. It should be in first, not second. Again, misleading garbage. Someone has to call this crap out:

    The new GT500 with its 5.2 liter Predator V8 is taking all of the headlines but do not forget how potent the 5.2 liter naturally aspirated Voodoo V8 is. A little bit of boost does wonders for the GT350 as this Whipple twin supercharged example shows. Johnson Tuning did the software work and squeezed out 808 rear wheel horsepower and 588 lb-ft of torque at the wheels on 93 octane pump gas: That is a glorious horsepower and torque curb to boot. Modifications: Gen V Whipple Supercharger 3.875 Pulley Kooks Headers 72 lb Injectors Billet Oil Pump Gears If you want a manual transmission GT500, this is the next best thing. It comes with extra revs and less weight too.

    The E9X market is somewhat polarizing. You can pick up an E92 335i today for a pair of used socks and some floppy discs. It has led to a decline in quality in aftermarket parts as well as enthusiasts. There is natural turnover every new 3-Series generation but the E9X M3 value is holding much better than its turbo counterparts. Why? Let's break down the reasons. 1. V8 M3, 8400 rpm, enough said. It's BMW's GT3 or GT350. You will never have a V8 in an M3 again and V8's are set to disappear from the entire BMW lineup in the next decade. 2. It can lap after lap after lap after lap. Yes, bearings need to be changed but compared to how a 335 throws codes if you sneeze on it, the M3 is a much more reliable track car which is what it was designed to be. This is the last car BMW actually won championships in motorsports with. 3. Last M3 with perfect 50/50 weight balance. 4. That exhaust note. 5. DCT or Manual paired to RWD 6. For some, the last real M3. 7. Speculators who think it will appreciate. A guy compiled KBB data on his E92 M3 over a three year period. Of course the value dropped over time as he accrued mileage but notice despite miles we seem to be in a bottoming out period: You will not make tons of money off an M3 investment but what is interesting to note is you will not lose tons of money either.     We covered the impact going catless (straight pipe) compared to high-flow catalytic converters on modern Porsches previously. With emissions rules tightening you can still remain emissions compliant while opening the car up both in sound and performance. Look at the Fabspeed dyno results with just a change to their sport cats on this Porsche 991.2 Carrera 4S equipped with PSE: Most of the gain comes up top exactly where the 9A2B6 3.0 needs it and considering the results are on the factory ECU it shows what a restriction in breathing the factory catalytic converters were. Not only do you gain power but just listen to the flat-6 open up. The guys still pounding their chest about their 991.1 exhaust note have little to brag about any longer:

    Well, this is one way to get a big turbo to fit in the N54 engine bay without having to worry about routing exhaust piping. Innova'Tig in Puerto Rico designed this very nice looking top mount V-bang single turbo manifold and simply dumped the exhaust through the hood. If they did this to an E82 135i in California, the result would likely be life in prison. Kidding... maybe. As far as this being a solution for the street, not really. But for those creating N54 track cars dumping the exhaust through the hood would be a problem only in areas with decibel limits. Certainly interesting to look at it...

    The ZL1 1LE Automatic is the Camaro that has to be compared to the new Mustang GT500 simply because it is the highest performance Camaro GM makes. The new GT500 breathes fire though and the LT4 V8 is simply outgunned here (why not an LT5 Camaro GM?). We will give the Camaro props for offering a manual. However, if the choice came down to manual and automatic options or a dual clutch, well, give me the dual clutch transmission. Car and Driver chooses the Camaro because of its value. If you want value do not equip the GT500 with the $18.5k Carbon Fiber Track Package. For that money you get carbon fiber wheels, a more aggressive body kit, rear seat delete, and better rubber. Do not fault Ford for giving you the option. If this is about performance, the GT500 simply wins. Although the ZL1 does impress with more grip on the skidpad. The ZL1 also weighs less although a 3886 pound curb weight is nothing to brag about. Sorry Car and Driver, you got this wrong. The GT500 is the hottest American muscle car on the market right now. The keyword being muscle.     Great news here but keep it mind the sources are unconfirmed. Regardless, expect a new Z. Not only are we getting a new Nissan 370Z sports car but it is going to gain twin turbos and a VR30DDTT 3.0 V6 variant. It is shaping up much like the Nissan Clubsport 23 concept. Nissan has yet to confirm anything but apparently is already showing dealers the car. The styling is a mix of a 240Z and 300ZX paying homage to its heritage. A manual is expected alongside a 9-speed automatic. Really Nissan? No Dual clutch? Expect a Nismo variant as well with 500+ horsepower if the rumors are true. The car is shaping up well and if they keep the weight down below that of the 370Z, we might have a winner!

    Great comparison here showing how different pulley sizes affect output. Obviously, you change pulleys to change how quickly the supercharger spins. The idea is more rpm, more air, and more boost pressure. There will be plenty of pulley combinations tried in the next few months but what we have here are a 2.65 and a 2.75. Palm Beach Dyno tuned both GT500's and measured the results on their Dynojet. The difference here is roughly 1 psi of boost: Now, the peak power change is not much which is to be expected. However, notice the blower with the more aggressive pulley comes on a bit stronger under 4k rpm. What you can also gather is roughly 20-25 whp per psi increase depending on supporting mods but there is also of course a point of diminishing returns.     RK Autowerks you can say specializes in the S63 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 BMW engine architecture. You likely saw over the years some of their parts such as the beautiful S63 supplemental port fuel injection manifolds they make. Well, in case you still have doubts RK Autowerks is building their F90 M5 to the hilt. Essentially, this is an all out build to lay claim to the title of baddest M5 on the planet. The engine looks more than up to task: The goal is ~1500 horsepower or so. BimmerBoost does not doubt the power level will be reached but what tricks does RK Autowerkes have in store for the automatic driveline to hold that power? We look forward to finding out.

    Sure, there are some faster stock motor 991 Turbos out there but you can count them on one hand. The ByDesign Stage IV Porsche 991 Turbo upgrade package impresses considering this is achieved on the factory ECU, factory VTG housings, stock PDK, and stock internal 3.8 motor. To date no 991 Turbo with the aforementioned factory pieces has gone faster. Here is the slip from PBIR (Palm Beach International Raceway): As well as GPS verification and a 60-130 sprint of 4.81 seconds: This is a full weight car on street tires and again with a VTG upgrade. Definitely a sweet spot in the dollar to performance ratio on the 991 Turbo platform.
