    This is some big, big news. Mercedes-AMG created a problem of C63 and E63 overlap ever since they decided to give the C-Class AMG variant the same motor as its E-Class big brother. The current generation W213 E63 and W205 C63 share M177 V8 engine variants respectively. The main difference is that the E63 offers 4Matic all wheel drive while the C63 does not and is rear wheel drive. Is that about to change? At the Star Experience event in Bulgaria Mercedes-AMG had a 4Matic W205 C63 on display. When asked if this would be a production model, the AMG rep simply smiled. It is no secret BMW is bringing a G80 M3 to the market with all wheel drive standard. Perhaps this finally convinced Mercedes-AMG it is ok for the C63 to again step on the E63's toes? We will know more soon but the all wheel drive C63 AMG of your dreams already exists.

    This F30 335i belongs to BimmerBoost member @luchocamp who set the new quickest N55 record. He ran an impressive 10.848 second elapsed time at 129.08 miles per hour in his custom Speedtech Stage 3 EFR 8374 single turbo F30 335i N55.     Porsche likes to be the king of the Nurburgring and it is not surprising considering it is essentially a home track for the Germans. The current four-door Nurburgring production champion is the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic+ with a 7:25.41 laptime. The plate on the test car is apparently a nod to the internal goal of 7:10 and apparently 7:11 was achieved. How? This is a Panamera with 500+ pounds stripped out and 800+ horsepower. Porsche is seeing what they can push the Panamera to internally it seems. Will this actually be a production model? Doubtful. It seems Porsche is just doing this as marketing for the 10th anniversary of the Panamera and for their own internal research. We'll know more when or even if Porsche comments on the test car.

    MotorTrend's 2019 Best Driver's Car competition is taking place at Laguna Seca and it is interesting to see the results on a track that is a good mix of technical application and power. The lineup is good but does not have any high performance standouts. That is other than the McLaren Senna but that is not even a street car. It is nice to see what the Senna can do at Laguna Seca in this context but it is on an entirely different level. Where is the McLaren 720S? The Ferrari Pista? The C8 Corvette? The GT500 Mustang? An R8 or Huracan? The 992 Carrera S is really the sportiest car out there short of the Senna. Here is the lineup in order of least favorite to most favorite driver's car by Randy Pobst: 12. McLaren Senna - 1:27.62 It is rather incredible how well the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic+ does. We keep saying it but Mercedes-AMG really worked some magic on that car. The BMW M850i xDrive does a fairly good job considering its heft and that it is not the M8 model which of course bodes well for the M derivative. Laguna Seca exposes the heft of the Urus. Power can not mask it here. The Supra also edges the M2 Competition although the M2 Competition is the preferred driver's car. The Hellcat Redeye is in the rear because someone took it off a dragstrip. The new Carrera S is the big winner here.

    This picture leaked out from the BMW Munich production line. What it means is this is a production design and it looks to be the G80 M3 design in particular. You can also expect this grill style on the G82 M4 and G22 4-Series as the 4-Series Concept showed. It is awkward for sure and it just does not have a BMW feel to it. Now before we all grab the pitchforks and torches, the cooling aspect from increased airflow can not be denied. Maybe BMW is going function over form? It still looks unbelievably awkward as if BMW was inspired by a pig's nose. This is going to be a love it or hate it development and it is hard to imagine the design growing on people.

    Excellent, excellent output here and great progress on the platform. The B9 generation underwhelmed in stock form namely the Audi B9 S4 and S5 models. Well, the aftermarket is addressing the output issue and a new benchmark was recently set. This said to be an uncorrected Mustang graph although it looks different from what we are used to seeing from a Mustang dynamometer: Still, that is 550 all wheel horsepower and 508 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. Mods: Eurocode SRM GTX3582 Carbnlab turbo inlet pipe BMS JB4 BMS Meth Kit CTS FMIC and downpipe Excellent numbers.

    Considering the S54 already has a very strong iron block this is an interesting development. BimmerBoost can only imagine a handful of people have pushed the S54 block to its breaking point but for those who really want to push the limits, VAC will have a billet block solution. They say this piece will be 1500+ horsepower capable and not to mention much lighter than the factory iron block. Serious drag racers and standing 1/2 mile or mile enthusiasts will no doubt be the target audience. Now how about a billet S65 block VAC?

    Remember back in 2017 when the AMG GT R Black Series was supposed to be on its way? Well, it may be late but here it is testing at the Nurburgring. The C190 AMG GT R Black Series looks incredibly aggressive although the exhaust sound is curiously muted. The AMG GT R already overachieves so what does the Black Series model have in store? Considering it is coming to market after the Pista, 720S and GT2 RS it is going to have to bring some real heat.

    Ah, the S54. A work of absolute art and the last great naturally aspirated iron block inline-6 from BMW. One of the greatest M motors ever made as well. Need proof? Well, how about a stock internal example with 190k miles producing 721 horsepower to the wheels? The S54 had a poor reputation early on due to bearing issues (typical BMW) but with the proper bearings the motor shows just how stout it is. Plus, this is an 11.5:1 compression naturally aspirated engine and with a bit of boost really sings; When we say BMW does not make them like they used to, this is what we mean.
